Holiday Reading Material

Last weekend I had some extra time on my hands and decided to sort out the piles and piles (!) of magazines and books I had lying around. I (re)discovered these two gems and directly put them with the stuff that I'm taking with me when going on holiday this weekend.

Guess these will perfect for relaxing at the pool..

Yes I'm going to swim!! Haven't done that in years since I'm not really fan of going to the beach (That actually is because of the sun, I always end up looking like a tomato), anyways there still are swimming pools. We just happen to have booked a hotel a bit North of Oslo that has amazing spa facilities including a huge serene inside swimming pool, so obviously I have to go swimming.

And since I finally am the proud owner of a bikini again (yes I didn't have a bikini... well I didn't visit the beach so why would I have one?!), I'm more than ready for an early morning dive. I have to admit that even though I never missed not having one, I secretly ordered another bikini and a bathing suit so  I do have options. Maybe I will even try the ocean again! At least I can always relax and enjoy my book and magazine! What do you take with you on holiday? xx

Premium and Seek Berlin

You probably already saw some photos on my Instagram feed from when I was in Berlin to visit the Premium and Seek fashion fair. Here are a few photos from the general area in Seek berlin which was much more fashion forward and showing more interesting, contemporary brands compared to the Premium fair.

When eating a burger and some fries the evening of our arrival we met two kind men that are working for the Danish brand Kaibosh specialized in [sun]glasses. It is a brand that has a completely different philosophy than other optical brands. They believe that one should have multiple glasses that complement your carefully curated looks, instead of one pair that doesn't go with all your looks. For instance when you are wearing a boyish look you should wear a pair of glasses that rounds off the look.

As they say themselves: "Now you can have a high quality pair of trend-setting prescription glasses or sunglasses for the same price as a pair of jeans". Browsing through their website will show you that they carry many different styles, there is something for everyone. And for those that cannot decide upon a pair in the morning they also have two-way glasses that you can alter throughout the day. Those glasses were also at the Seek fair and were amazing, how cool is it that you can wear your glasses in two ways?! Definitely fashion-forward! xx

Leather bags from Mallin Gross

When I was in Berlin I went to visit the Premium fashion fair. There I came across a new luxury leather brand called Mallin Gross. Loved the quality of the bags and the fact that they all have silver hardware, also everything is nicely lined with cotton. It's a German brand and the bags are made by skilled Italian artisians of the best Italian leathers.

Still thinking about that backpack! xx

When in Berlin

We took some outfit photos last thursday in Berlin. I was wearing my new Acne denim, a pair of black leather Clarks, a striped shirt and my favorite cropped leather jacket. The weather was surprisingly cold compared to the 30 something temperatures we had in Holland. What I love about Berlin is that there are so many nice locations to take outfit photos,  I decided to have the U-bahn in the background. xx

Voostore

My favorite store in Kreuzberg. Selling for both ladies and gents and they also offer a wide range of interior items. They have amazing items from many different brands, amongst others Carin Wester, Nike, Playtype, Acne Studios and Whyred. Here a selection of products that you can buy at their online store:

Can I go back?

When can I go back? Have you ever been to Berlin, no?! You better book something immediately, because just look at those buildings. The city is a-ma-zing! So happy that I got the opportunity to live there for six months when doing my internship last year. I might want to go again for a year or so after graduating my Masters :-) xx

Berlin Wall Art

One of the best things of Berlin is all the creativity that flows throughout the city. For example, you can find graffiti on almost every corner. One can actually better call it wall art, since cannot be compared to the 'tags' and other 'artworks' one finds here. The wall paintings in Berlin are often pieces of art; it is clear that true artists have been working on them.

Above you can find a selection of my personal favorites. Of course there are also many buildings covered in typical graffiti - especially in former East-Berlin areas such as Prenzlauer Berg. Which one do you like best? xx

Trial and Error

Doing what I do best: capturing the moment and failing in uploading it on Instagram. Don't what I did wrong but somehow I managed to NOT upload the photo until I was back on wifi at the hotel. Luckily it worked again the next day, resulting in many photos on Instagram (@heritagemode.

Am Neuen Palais

Yesterday we arrived in Germany and before going to our hotel in Berlin Mitte we made a stop at the Sanssouci Park in Potsdam. These photos are taken at the New Palace in the park, close to the famous Prussian Sanssouci castle. Sanssouci, Am Neuen Palais, Potsdam.

Unfortunately the weather was a bit depressing, we've had rain all day. Luckily I brought my raincoat so at least my outfit underneath stays in shape. btw, I really have no idea what I was doing in the last photo, dancing maybe?... xx

What I brought home from Berlin

After spending so many months in the always amazing Berlin, I - of course - brought a lot of stuff home. Some books, magazines, almond body scrub, body butter, post cards, chocolate and nail polishes. Now I just have to find the time to read, eat and treat myself ;-) xx

Neon Details

Obviously these photos are from a while ago since I cut half my hair off last week (as you probably have seen on Instagram and Facebook). But I still wanted to share those photos with you. I mean it's not that often that I walk around with so much color, especially not in neon yellow. xx
