DIY dyed Zebra

Ph, Private

This is a really easy DIY, just paint an old top or other garment. Apart from an old or boring top you'll need textile dye in a color at your choice.

Just throw the garment/garments in the washing machine and add the textile dye (I used Dylon). Wash it at a normal program and when you take it out, leave it to dry, and done it is! I tied my top so the paint won't be perfect, to create a messy look.

Dusty Rose

Silk jumpsuit: Thrifted | Belt: Vintage | Shoes: Zara | Sunnies: vintage Mulberry | Necklace: Thrifted | Cuff: Urban Outfitters

Starring Gosh nailpolish 608 Dusty Rose

Without nailpolish the summer wouldn't be as perfect as it is now. I like painting toe and fingernails in the most beautiful colors. At the moment I'm totally into this gorgeous nude shade from Gosh. It just goes with everything and is appropriate for every occasion. That's exactly why I like it so much.

What are your favorite nailpolish colors for summer?

Feathered Jacket

Feather Jacket: Vintage | Silk top: Episode | Skirt: Thrifted | Sandals: Bijenkorf
Belt: Vintage | Cuff: Urban Outfitters | Jewelry: random | Mesh bag: Vintage

What I was wearing yesterday. When the sun disappears behind the clouds it can be very chilly. So that's why I brought my Marabu feathered jacket with me. I'm not wearing it that often (because no it doesn't fit underneath a coat) but I really like it. This week I have an exam to attend and then I will have some spare time, so I'm trying to DIY something coming week.
Have a nice week!

Leather Backpack

Top: Thrifted | Leather skirt: Vintage | Shoes: Supertrash | Sunnies: vintage Mulberry
Earpiece: Asos | Necklace: COS | Leather Backpack: Thrifted

What I was wearing today while working. Since I have worn sandals the whole week, my feet are covered with blisters. So there isn't a pair left to wear the whole day. That's the reason I'm wearing booties during a sunny workday. I'm really happy with this small cute leather backpack. I bought it last week, and it turns out to be a really easy and versatile piece!

Have a nice weekend!

Givenchy Resort 2012

Ph, Style

I really need to ask you something. Is it me, or are those Givenchy collections becoming better and better as we're speaking? Honestly, I'm really impressed about the fact that a brand can be sooo inspiring collection after collection. Above are some pictures off the Resort 2012 collection.

These prints are just fabulous. I also really like the black ensemble at the first photo, the uneven sides are great. There are also a lot cropped knitted sweaters in this collection, which I'm going to DIY soon! What do you think of this collection?

Circus Jacket

Ph, Private

Jacket: Vintage | Blouse: Thrifted | Jeans: vintage Levi's | Shoes: Diesel | Sunnies: Random

Obviously I wasn't wearing this today, instead it's a look from last weekend. It actually still was way to sunny and hot, but I wanted to wear my 'new' jacket, a vintage found. Well I have to admit, I've started with wearing colors more often, but this jacket still feels a bit weird. People staring at me as if I'm wearing some sort of circus uniform... OK, I don't blame them, it does look like a Clowns jacket.

But hè, who cares, I think it is an awesome jacket! I'm probably not going to wear it that often, but it definitely is a great wardrobe addition! Who else has a with colorful graphic figures covered pink jacket?!

The weather was really nice and sunny, so what's better than ice cream! Chocolate, straciatella and yogurt are my favorite flavors! My boyfriend and I went outside to do some shopping, just walking around a bit and eating ice cream! A fifties article again, this is a beautiful delicate lace top, with a button closure at the back. Also wearing Diorific lipstick no.024.

What are you up to, enjoining the great weather?

1. While hiking on Mothersday I made this shot. This is a house in the countryside where I grew up, unfortunately not the house where I grew up ;)
2. Ingredients for a sort of quiche/bread roll. I have always this problem with organics onions, they get offshoots within a week. Maybe I need to plant one of them to cultivate my own onion plant.
3. My boyfriend was trying to shoot photos with flash.
4. Some roses I got from the boyfriend, so sweet! (No reasons for these beauties, just because he wanted to surprise me).
5. Shoes in my fathers shed, antique ones from the mid-forties.

Leather jacket: Dept | Silk top: Vintage | Jeans: Diesel | Belt: Scotch & Soda | Bag: Gestuz
Necklace: DIY | Shoes: Deena & Ozzy | Sunnies: Random

What I was wearing yesterday.  I had a day off, which I enjoined the fullest. I went to the flea market, which was across the street I live. I went to town to do some make-up refill shopping. It turned out that my mascara was empty yesterday morning (so I needed sunglasses to cover my naked eyes, no kidding, believe it or not: the sun was finally shining) and my all time favorite perfume, Coco Mademoiselle, needed replacement. Later that day, my boyfriend and I went to the cinema twice. We hadn't seen The Hunger Games yet, so we visited the afternoon movie. In the evening we also went to see Jackie, a Dutch movie. All together a great day!

Bengt Fashion

These photos are from the SS12 and AW12 shoot from Bengt Fashion. A few weeks ago I saw these on Charlie May her blog, taken by herself during the shoot. She was invited because she is a designer herself and sells her clothes at the Bengt webstore. Bengt is a London based company selling designers who are established all over the world. They mainly represent just graduated fashion designers.

On Bengtfashion.com you can find a wide range of luxury goods. For example Charlie May and Dominique Kral clothing, Danielle Foster bags, Moxham jewelry, and a dozen other great designers. I think the E.A.Burns 3D triangular shaped, spiked necklaces (yellow, purple and black ones as in last picture) are just divine! What do you think?

DIY Metal Collar

Ph, Private | Inspiration Photo IODonna

You'll need:
Metal bar, workbench, hacksaw/metal saw, vice, ruler, marker, piece of paper, file, wood block, hammer, something round shaped.
I wanted to make a metal collar but didn't had all the required tools. So I asked my father to help me, it ended up that he did everything, I just took pictures. Thanks dad!
1. Measure the length (35 cm in my case) and mark it.
2. Secure your metal bar into a vice, surrounded with a piece of paper for protection. Saw at the length you've marked down, using the hacksaw.
3. File the ends to make it smooth and stump.
4. Bow the metal bar into a round shape by putting pressure on a round surface. My father used wooden boot spanners, but a firm container or even a lamppost would probably be fine as well.
5. By now you should have some sort of 'headband shaped' metal bar. To make the edges look more like a collar you should bow the tips. My father used a wood block and hammer as you can see in the pictures. Please make sure you don't hammer to hard, because you can break or damage the metal.
Good luck, give it a try!

Mothersday

Ph, Private

Yesterday it was Mothersday and of course my boyfriend and I went to our parents to give our gifts to our mothers. Apart from the fact it was Mothersday, it was also my boyfriends birthday. He turned 22, so we also celebrate his birthday. The morning started with some sandwiches, orange juice and of course presents. After, we went hiking with my boyfriends family. In July we are going hiking at the Swiss mountains for a week. A little practice never hurts. I took my camera, to take a few shots of the Dutch environment in this great sunny weather.

After two hours of hiking we treated ourselves with some homemade strawberry pie. We went to my parents, and my father helped me with some DIY projects which I will show soon (I needed a workbench and some tools I don't own myself). In the evening we ate delicious asparagus and played a Bridge game.
