Early Mornings

Taken earlier this morning from the balcony. Love that it is starting to get lighter and lighter each morning. When waking up the birds are cheerfully chirping outside and the streets are filled with people walking their dogs and cyclists making their way to work. Cannot wait until spring is here and being able to spend more time outside (without the never ending rain). We are almost there, enjoy your day! xx

What's with Valentine?

Ok for starters, I didn't bake a Valentines cake or anything. I just happened to have a heart shaped baking tin (yeah I don't no why either). Since I have no idea what Valentine exactly entails - other than love and hearts - I decided to add a photo of the tin to this post. Plus, I don't happen to have other heart shaped items at home so it had to be this tin.

So I was wondering how many people really do celebrate Valentines day. I mean in The Netherlands it has never been a big thing, however over the years it seems to have commercialized a bit. In the weeks/days before Valentine you can definitely buy lots of reds, hearts, love-related stuff you normally cannot find at the stores (not that I usually look for those kind of things).

Anyhow.. when I looked on Instagram this morning I saw many posts dedicated to Valentine's day. Which got me thinking, do people just post something because it looks nice in their feeds? Or is it because it is more popular overseas and due to social media we are more connected and take over others' habits (in this case holidays)? Regardless the reason, here is me trying to join this 'thing' by wishing you a great Valentines evening! xx

Peugeot Single Speed

Last week I took my bike to the work and my colleague took some photos of it! Not sure if I ever told you, but I work at a photo studio so it made sense to take some personal photos. Last year I pimped this old bike and I'm really happy with the result. We had a lot of fun shooting these because I wanted some photos where I was really biking which turned out to be quite hard (not because I cannot bike, but because of the small space ;-) What do you think of the result and do you like my bike, I know I do!

Furthermore I'm wearing my new favourite sweater from the Danish ADPT. together with my trusty black Acne jeans. Below two more photos (with voluminous hair)! xx

Magnificent Sunsets

Love those sunsets! All photos are taken by me during my holiday in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Day after day we were treated with spectacular view like the ones above, the sunset often took almost two hours in which the sky faded into the most amazing colors. I especially like the pink/purple hues. xx Enjoy your Sunday!

When in Göteborg

Can't believe it has already been a month since we visited this beautiful city. So it's about time that I'm sharing some photos. Of course I took too many photos so I had a hard time deciding which ones I should pick. Göteborg is an amazing city, we were totally blown away by it's beauty and really wished that we had more time to explore this fascinating city.

The city has some height differences (similar to for example Lissabon) which makes that there are many viewpoints from which you have a great outlook over the city. The architecture in the city is really breathtaking, it has many stone buildings, but also wooden ones and on one corner it seems that your find yourself in the middle of New York, whereas you turn around the next corner it all of the sudden resembles London. It's truly a one of a kind city!

We parked our car close to an area called Haga; a district known for its 19th century atmosphere and picturesque wooden houses. It's a nice shopping area filled with little shops and cafés. Afterwards we walked to the large Slottskogen - the largest park in Gothenburg with an open zoo - and on our way we had a drink at Jerntorgerts Brygghus a nice beer place with, obviously, a wide range of beers but also non-alcoholic drinks.

After walking around the city (really everything is at walking distance) we went to the main centre. The city centre was just as beautiful as the rest of the city. There are many Scandinavian concept stores, multibrand stores, antique shops, beautiful brick storefronts, cobblestoned streets, canals through the city, industrial buildings, etc., etc.

Of course we had to eat as well and we found this place called Kafé Magasinet at the Tredje Långgatan. It is a nice cosy yet industrial lunch place where we ordered some sandwiches, coffee and drinks. The location is super cure; in a small courtyard behind the main street. The street has many nice places where you can eat lunch or dinner, so definitely a must visit!

Below you can find two more photos showing off the beauty of this Swedish metropolis!

Summer in Oslo

Obviously these photos were taken during my holiday two weeks ago, wish it was now though. In the first and second last photo you can see the beautiful Opera House in Oslo. It was a really modern building especially in comparison to its surrounding and therefore it really stood out. Loved the glass windows and the fact that one is able to walk on top of the building where there is an amazing view over the Oslofjord.

Apart from the Opera House we didn't really like the city centre itself. But the areas around the city centre had some amazing buildings - as photographed - and also more inspiring stores. The harbor area was also pretty nice. We stayed at the Lysebu hotel located in the uphill area called Holmenkollen where you can easily take the metro to the city centre. Have you ever visited Oslo? xx

Uggerby Strand

At the moment I'm in Sweden, but these photos were taken last week when we were staying close to Hirtshals to take the ferry to Norway. There was a beautiful beach called Uggerby Strand where we enjoyed the sunset and its beautiful pink and lilac hues. I can't wait to go back and stay a bit longer so I can explore the beautiful area. Have you ever been to North Jutland? xx

P.S. After taking dozens of photos I finally managed to capture the impressive sunset. I'm thinking of printing the first photo, frame it and hang it in our bedroom, what do you think?

When in Aarhus

When In Aarhus..

I love love love this city! It is so charming with streets laid with cobblestones, located on the west coast of Denmark with a nice harbor and the buildings are characteristics with appealing store fronts. There are shops spread throughout the city and there are also many cafes and restaurants, you will definitely not get bored here. I think I have to start saving money to buy an apartment asap :-)

Definitely a must-visit when in Denmark! xx
