New in POM Amsterdam and win one yourself

As you probably already saw in the title of this post, you can win this beautiful funky fluor scarf. So, what's the deal. Well, where to begin.. I recently came across the website of this Dutch scarf brand POM (Piece Of Mine) while browsing through 9straatjes online. I decided to check out there own webshop since I really liked the scarfs. It turned out that they have quite a collection of amazing triangular shaped scarfs made of the most amazing fabrics. It's a relative new brand as the two sisters Liesbeth and Violet started making and selling their selfmade scarfs in 2011.

I instantly fell in love with this amazing Funky Fluor scarf so I clicked it home. It's quite large and can be worn in many ways (check out the video below for some inspiration). It has a leopard print in fluor yellow, beige and golden tones and is finished with a pompom trimming. BUT, I'm not the only one who is lucky enough to have this beautie. I teamed up with POM Amsterdam to give you the chance to win the exact same scarf. All you have to do to enter is:

1. Like POM Amsterdam on Facebook, here.
2. Like Heritage Mode on Facebook, here.
3. Leave your email-adress in the comments so I can contact you. If you have any idea, tell me how you would style/wear it.

This give-away is open worldwide and will end on Thursday 7 February 00:00 CET.

Furcoat

Furcoat: Vintage | Sweat top: Isabel Marant | Shirt: HM Trend | Leather trousers: Humanoid
Booties: Acne | Leather Shopper: Maison Scotch | Hat: Thrifted

Obviously not what I was wearing today, but an outfit I wore last week. You already saw a little preview in Sundays Weekly. All the snow had melted the last couple of days and today it was raining.. I guess I rather have a snow covered world than that rain pouring down on us. Today I had a final test for a research practicum, it was part of the last course of this semester. Next week I'll start writing my Bachelor thesis.

Oh and there is an exciting Give-a-way coming up this week! So stay tuned.

&Other Stories

Ph, Here

Here some items of the &Other Stories collection which will be launched soon. As you probably know, H&M has set up a new brand. &Other Stories (stories.com) is part of the H&M group which also houses COS, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday and of course H&M. They will be offering women a wide range of fashionable items including a wide range of shoes, bags, lingerie and accessories so you can create your own story. It will be a more luxurious version of the regular H&M and thus the quality is going to be a lot better. &Other Stories will open their first stores in all big European cities this Spring (including The Netherlands). How amazing are the accessories, especially the bags and shoes are superb.

Purple Sides Part 2

 Ph, Private

As promised two more looks with purple sides. The first look is a bit more rock-star with smokey eyes. The second one is more or less a color bomb; purple in my hair, bronze on my eyes and vibrant red lips. For my hair I used some bobby-pins and Elnett hairspray.

How to:
The basis for this look again consist out the YSL Touche Éclat, Chanel Perfection Lumière foundation and Chanel Vitalumière Éclat Compact powder.
-Put Chanel Ombre Essentiele nr. 45 Safari all over your eyelid.
-Create depth by using Chanel Ombre Contrast Duo (black and white).
-Use the eyeliners out the La Ligne de Chanel kit, both the smudgy and graphic ones.
-Finish your look with some mascara (Chanel Inimitable Intense).

Ph, Private

How to:
The same basis as the first look.
-Use a bronze colored eye-shadow to set your temples and eyelids (MAC Amber Lights and Chanel Ombre Essentiele nr.45 Safari).
-Highlight your eyebrows and the inner corners of you eyes, I used Chanel Ombre Essentiele nr.60 Ivory.
-Sharpen your cheekbones with a bronzer (Soleil Tan de Chanel).
-Put on a lipstick in a vibrant reddish shade, I used both Chanel Rouge Allure nr.98 Coromandel and MAC Viva Glam.

Purple Sides Part 1

Ph, Private

A while ago I bought some purple hairgel. I can hear you thinking: 'why on earth would you buy purple hairgel??!'. Well, I can explain, I thought about dying my hair in a vibrant color, but had no idea what color and if I wanted to dye my whole hair or a part of. So when I accidentally bumped into these little tubes of  colored hairgel for kids I thought why not give a try. A few days ago I had some time to try it out, in the creative process I decided to give you three make-up looks with it. I'm not sure if I can really call this a make-up look since it's kinda without make-up.

How to:
-Apply a concealer underneath you eyes (I used my favorite; YSL Touche Éclat nr.1).
-(Optional) Add some foundation to hide imperfections like red spots (Chanel Perfection Lumière, nr. 12).
-Finish your natural look with a compact powder (Chanel Vitalumière Éclat Compact, nr. 10).

I have created two more looks, I will show them tomorrow.

Winter Wonderland

Ph, Private

Woolen vest: Maison Scotch | Leather Jacket: Dept | Jacket: Maison Scotch | Lace dress: Vintage | Leather leggings: Goosecraft | Booties: Supertrash | Mittens: Thrifted | Scarf: Asos | Belt: Scotch & Soda | Bag: Gestuz

Today we went out for a walk in this white winter wonderland. During these days my mittens are my best friends, they don't leave my side at all. Are you familiar with the feeling of not wanting to put on a real wintercoat. Of course I do have way too many real wintercoats, but when it's cold like at this moment I always want to put on layers. So instead of one coat, I choose to wear a jacket, added a leather jacket and finished with a woolen vest on top.

What are you looking at?
1. London yesterday morning. We arrived a lot earlier than expected, at 06:45 AM that is, so we saw London city waking up.
2. Somewhere last week I was eating pancakes with icing while drinking hot chocolate. It's getting colder, maybe winter will finally arrive.
3 & 4. The Portobello road market at 8.30, never seen Portobello road so empty. All vendors were still busy packing and setting out their merchandise. We walked down Portobello road up and down in total length in less than thirty minutes.
5. Would love to buy an Persian carpet someday.
6. We finally found a place that served breakfast at 9.00 AM, quite hard. This place was a first for me, never been there before, but they serve pretty good food. It's called Electric Diner located at Portobello Rd 191.
7, 8 & 9. The Victoria and Albert Museum, always on my to visit list when I'm in London. We also went to the National History Museum, never been there before.
10. A book for Mart, I'm sure he will like it.
11. Lunchtime, a mushroom chickpea soup which was delicious but does look a bit awful on photo.
12. Loved this postcard, great capture.

I normally put it in the closet for a week first before I even remove the price tags haha. Well nothing better than instant love for a new purchase, right?! After a day of work tomorrow I'll go to London for a day actually, so you can expect a new post at Sunday. Have a nice weekend!

Aarhus city map

Obviously I'm not an Aarhus expert, but I can share my favorite places to visit with you.

1. Organic restaurant and bakery Emmerys at the Guldsmedgade. They serve a wide selection of sandwiches, toasts and drinks. They also offer great breakfast and lunch options to share with friends.
2. The Samsoe & Samsoe store at the Klostergade 15, which  also sells Acne, Minimum, Won Hundred and more.
3. On Volden 7 you can find the store Stylepaste which sells both clothing and accessories of brands like Acne, J.W. Anderson, Muubaa, Rochas, Opening Ceremony, Carven, Surface to air and many more.
4. Aarhus also has his own Mulberry store. I guess I don't need to explain what beautiful accessories you'll find in that shop. The shop is located at the Vestergade 5.
5. I love love love the COS store, my favorite shop in Aarhus!
6. If you want to get a taste of the old America you should order spareribs at Bone's at the Skolegade 33-35.

Aarhus Look and Buys

Ph, Private

Coat: COS | Blazer: Madness | Hairy knit: DIY | Jeans: Acne | Booties: Acne | Bag: Zara | Necklace: Asos

What I was wearing on the day of arrival at Aarhus, Denmark. My boyfriend and I go shopping in Aarhus twice a year. Every season we shop both sale items and new collection. This year we bought almost everything at the COS store. I don't know if you've ever been to Aarhus and visit its COS store, but it is quite huge. On the second picture you can see what garments I bought, a navy knit with mohair body and silk sleeves, an orange tee, a black collar (not from COS), an emerald green lurex knit with silver shimmery, a basic white tee and a black waffle knit.

Apart from the clothes I also bought a few accessories, all at COS as well. I bought the lilac tiny bracelet you can see at my wrist, the black one is the same which I bought in Düsseldorf a year ago and never left my arm since. I also bought a braided leather clutch, maroon wallet and a double chain necklace. Perfect shopping trip if you ask me! We stayed at the Oasia hotel which I very much can recommend since it is a very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. If you stay at this city hotel you will sleep in huge Hästens beds and watch you favorite tv shows on a Bang & Olufsen tv, not bad huh?!

5. My shoe closet is totally packed so I have to put my other shoes underneath my clothing racks or I just need to detox my shoe collection. Sounds familiar, uh?!
6. Love it when I've just restocked my swabs, looks so organized.

Came back home of a quick shopping trip in Aarhus, Denmark yesterday. We've visited a lot shops but I spent almost all my money at the COS store. I will show the items I bought soon!

Floral Dreams

 Elle Vietnam January 2013

DIY hairy knit

Ph, Private

Indeed a hairy top, you've seen it right. You remember I bought those extensions a while ago, I still wasn't totally sure what to use it for. Well this is what I made. You'll need: a top you don't use anymore, some extensions, beads and needle and thread.

1. Pin down the extensions on the neckline of your top.
2. Use needle and thread to stitch the extensions onto the neckline.
3. Stitch beads on top to cover the top part of the extensions. Done!
