Harem Pants and Leather Jacket

An outfit I wore last weekend. I know the new weekend starts tomorrow, so I'm sharing these photos a bit late, but still! I'm wearing one of my favorite trousers, a pair of grey silk-blend harem pants. I've got them for more than five years now and they are still in perfect shape! Paired with a striped half sheer top and my favorite leather jacket!

Had quite a busy week, more to do at my Masters now, lots of appointments, etc. How was your week? I'm going to visit the living statue festival in Arnhem on sunday, what about you, any plans for this weekend? xx

LFW My 5 favorite collections

J.JS Lee SS 15. Definitely on top of my favorite list. I like the matching tops and bottoms in this collection, I will definitely going to try this next summer. I also love the oversized shapes and the shiny feminine yet comfortable looking fabrics. Those shoes look like 3d printed geometric shoes and even though they aren't really my taste, I think they go really well with the collection.

Michael van der Ham SS 15. In one word: wauw. I had the feeling Michael van der Ham kept making the same kinda items over and over again. This collection definitely has his mark on it, but still it finally looks refreshing to me! I like the bustier kinda tops that are worn on top of other items! His collection is all about layering and using different textures and materials :)

David Koma SS 15. This collection to me is about shapes and playing with lengths. The focus is on the waist in these looks, either by showing a bare midriff or by accentuating the smallness of the female figure. I also like the clever use of colors and the slicked back hairdo. The sandals look like some great basics that every woman should have in her closet, do you already have ones like that?

Topshop Unique SS 15. To me this is always one of the most un-cohesive shows on London Fashion week, and I don't mean that in a negative way. There is so much going on in the collection, probably because there are so many looks. I can find multiple styles within this one collection. Inspiration wise that's definitely a good thing! I like the combination of soft looking girly items paired with boyish items like the leather sleeved baseball jacket and the oversized pullover. Definitely a look I will go for!

Marios Schwab SS 15. The last collection I picked is the one from Marios Schwab. I don't like all the items shown in these five selected looks, but some others are just really good. Especially the two clean oversized tees. The fit looks really good but that probably has to do with the thick stiff material (something like neoprene I guess?). Another think I like are the mule kinda heeled shoes with ankle straps, they look like a perfect mixture of sandal and ankle bootie. What is your favorite? xx

Weekly

What are you looking at?
It's been a long time ago since I posted a weekly update. So not all photos are made this week, I had some more stored on my macbook. So let me tell you something about these photos:

1. Bought some new plants at the Ikea. Bamboo, small cactuses and a nice little tree.
2. This is the last Glossybox I received, the Stars and Stripes box, an amazing one if you ask me. I know, it is from July but I still wanted to share it. I especially love the Bellapiere lipstick, it has a nice coral shade that suits every skin color.
3. Love how orders from Mr Porter are being shipped. I bought this Acne hat, find it on Instagram.
4. We've had some pretty hot days lately and I really like simple food on days like that.
5. Painted some stools and a chair in these lovely colors.
6. Bought these cards at the Ikea Hengelo. It's apparently something new to have a paper department at the Ikea, great idea! xx

Friday Nights in Amsterdam

Went to the SS15 collection presentation of Colmar Originals. This is what I was wearing, Mart came along and we spent the whole afternoon in Amsterdam. We had sushi for dinner, visited some new stores and enjoyed the weather.

The collection presentation took place in the Groote Industriƫle Club at the Dam Square in the centre of Amsterdam. The place looked amazing, go to my Instagram to see how amazing the view was from the 4th floor. Check #colmarpeople to see more photos of the evening. I unfortunately didn't get anything home, no booklet, no folder, nothing. I can tell you though that the jackets looked great, loved the prints and vibrant colors. Thanks Image PR and Colmar for having me! xx

My new business cards

My new business cards. I received them about a month ago and thought that it would be nice to share it with you. I decided to go for grayish tones, there is some color in the background but lowly saturated. I have my logo on it as well and of course - the most important thing - my web address. I picked a nice 300 grams paper, glossy finish and they printed it in full-colour (because of the colors in the background).

Do you have business cards? If yes, what do they look like? xx

Basics; black, grey, leather and denim

What I was wearing last Saturday, some basics. Love those Asos jeans - the fit is actually not that good for me, I have a lot of space around my waist which is kinda unflattering - they are super comfy! Do you also have jeans like that, your weekend/comfy jeans?

I paired the jeans together with a new basic grey tee from One Piece. The fit is great, slightly oversized without having the boyfriend look. Go get it here and use the code HERITAGEMODE15 at the checkout to receive a 15% discount on your order (expires on the 19th of September).

An outfit is never complete without a leather vest or jacket ;) So I wore my favorite leather vest from Maison Scotch and put on my Nike sneakers. What does your comfy outfit look like? xx

NYFW My 5 favorite collections

3.1. Phillip Lim SS 15. I really like the color scheme of this collection, love the soft pastel hues together with the bright yellow and dark navy. The oversized shape is something that keeps coming back, season after season and I have to admit that I'm glad for it because I really like boyfriend fits. I also like the shoes a lot, high heels with double ankle straps in real leather as we are used to from Phillip Lim.

Rag & Bone SS 15. This collection attracts me because of the clever bags. I love how the models are wearing the bags crossed around their body and the one on the left reminds me of old fashioned bum bags. I also like the cropped top in combination with the wide legged pants. I'm not sure about the shoes that they paired the looks with though, they somehow look like combinations of all the shoes we already saw during the past fashion weeks (but maybe that's just me).

Suno SS 15. I have to admit that I'm not really familiar with the designs of this label. But seeing this spring summer collection, I think that I will check it more often. I like the cropped trousers, it looks as if they are made out of a silk blend which gives the fabric a subtle shine. I also like the prints and soft colors a lot. So if you spot me in a checkered suit, you know where I got my inspiration from ;).

Tibi SS 15. This is one of the brands that always ends up in my top 5 list. And again this season they created a collection that looks amazing, the looks really represent a cohesive story. I love how many different kinds of shoes are made for this collection, we can find strappy heels, canvas flatforms, layered sandals and leather mules. Another thing I like a lot is the way they played with shapes, textures and lengths.

Alexander Wang SS 15. Last but not least the collection of Mr. Wang. I guess this is always one of the shows that is speculated most about. I really like the designs of Alexander Wang but I do think that the collection aren't that surprising anymore, it's often similar to the previous collection. Don't get me wrong I really like the combination of powerful feminine looks paired with oversized items, but I'll just have to see for how long I'll continue liking it.

Which New York Fashion Week show did you like best, and why? xx

Copenhagen buys

Some of the products I bought while I spent a month in Copenhagen. Bought some Danish books to practice my Danish, a Monki scarf that is perfect for the upcoming seasons, a nice postcard/poster and a pen holder at Tiger. Furthermore I also bought some food, all kinds of products, but especially those products that I wouldn't or couldn't buy over here. xx

Hidden gardens

What I was wearing today. As you maybe know, I graduated for my Bachelor of Science in Communication in July. Today was the official first day of my new education, a master in Fashion Strategy at Artez. I'm looking forward to finally study something fashion related again (I did three courses at Akademie Vogue before I started my Bachelor). What are you up to? xx

Zara lookbook September

Zara released photos of their autumn winter items with the september look book. I really like the clean looks! The collection also contains many colorful items with a sort of seventies feeling (at least to me), so if you want to see the whole look book go to their website. I think I need some oversized knitted sweaters this winter! What is your opinion about the new collection? xx

It's a hat matter

Unpredictable weather asks for drastic measurements. In my opinion a beanie is the item you need these days. That is why I looked for some nice ones, click on the following links to shop them:
