Going to the cinema and wearing just some basics. Sometimes it's just great to wear anything simple and comfy. On Monday the University opens her doors for a new year, I'm excited to get back in my normal rhythm. What are you up to?

England #5 North Wales

Ph, Private

On our fifth day we went to Wales. We first drove pass the north coast and visited Conwy. Conwy is a city largely built between the Medieval town walls. These walls and Conwy castle were built on request of Edward I, during the thirteenth century. During our visit I heard some people talking a strange languages, probably the old Welsh language. Back in the car I searched for a Welsh radio-channel, what a language. I couldn't make head or tail of it, just brilliant!

We also visited Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch on Anglesey: an island located at the north west coast of Wales. The village has the longest place name in Europe, unpronounceable.

Bag Wishes

Ph, 31Phillip Lim & Balenciaga

3.1 Phillip Lim 'Lark' Tote with silver hardware. Get yours here. (Unfortunately 'get' means 'buy', it's not like they are giving these beauties away for free). Balenciaga Padlock 'all time' bag with silver hardware. Buy it here.

It's really hard to find a black bag that I really like. First thing, I don't like gold hardware. There it is; BAM! 80 percent of the bags is out of running to become my next bag. Then there are more wishes of my concern. I want a versatile bag, so it should have a shoulder-strap, some extra pockets, a lining is preferable, some space... etc. Anyway, I've managed to find two bags I really like, which one do you  like best?

England #4 Peak District

Ph, Private

We've stayed two days in Chesterfield. We spent our time visiting the gorgeous Peak district, the oldest national park in England. We went to different places to see a lot architectural styles, medieval, tudor, georgian, etc. We visited Haddon Hall, which is used as film location for Jane Eyre. It's largely built in the Middle Ages and underwent some changes in following centuries. There was a costume exhibition at the moment of our visit, with the original outfits used for Jane Eyre.

England #3 Chesterfield

Ph, Private

These photos are from day three in the wonderful Great Britain. In the morning we left Sutton Bridge and headed westwards to visit Mansfield. We drove further to Chesterfield and inbetween these two cities Hardwick Hall is situated on a hilltop. As you can see in the photos, it's a beautiful Elizabethan country house. Unfortunately that day just the gardens and the downstairs kitchen were open for visitors. Anyway, it was absolutely gorgeous.. wish I could just live there for one day, or more.. in like 1830.

England #1 Halstead

Ph, Private

These photos are taken on the first day of our holiday. We went to England by boat, from Hoek-van-Holland to Harwich. When we arrived in England we drove to Halstead a small place near Colchester. That's were we found our first hotel (already booked online). We had a nice stay and left the next day at 9:00 AM to drive further to Cromer, but I will show you some photos soon. The weather is a bit changeable, some rainy and some sunny hours.

DIY Sweat Top

Ph, Private

What you'll need:
Sweat shirt, scissors, sewing machine, tape-measure.

1. Cut off the sleeves, making them short. Slightly roll up the sleeves.
2. Make it a cropped top by cutting of the lower part, use a tape-measure to make sure that both sides have the same length.
3. Turn the top around, cut out the back starting at the top, cut directly along the sews. You will have a choker and sleeves. Then stop about approximately 10 cm from the seam and start cutting sidewards. You will have cut a triangular shaped piece of fabric out of the back and.
4. Then cut the 10 cm wide strip at the lower part in half. Now you can knot the two pieces of fabric together to create shape. The sweat top is not longer totally connected, the choker keeps the top connected.
5. Stitch along the seams, on both sides of your straps. I didn't stitch along the sleeves, because I wanted them to be a bit edgy and not stiff. Good Luck!

What are you looking at?
1. Delicious pangafilet I ate Wednesday. My mother in law took us all out for dinner because it was her birthday!
2. Packing my stuff right now, tomorrow I'm leaving for a roadtrip in United Kingdom.
3. Me doing.. well something, I guess?!
4. Dinnertime! To celebrate her birthday we went to Goed.proeven in Arnhem. Mart and I were the first to be back home because the restaurant is located just around the corner of our apartment. Goed.proeven is a casual dining company (that's how they call it themselves). It's all about sharing, but not a standard tapas restaurant. You can order pizza's, burgers, salads, a wide variety of fish and meat dishes and a lot more. On the tables you'll find a pile plates, a jug with cutlery and some napkins. Everyone can grab a plate and scoop up whatever he likes. A great initiative if you ask me, anyway the food is delicious!
5. We ordered 1,5lt sangria, three times..!
6. Today I painted my nails and gave myself a two-toned manicure on a few nails.
7. Delicious coconut shrimps, again from Wednesday birthday dinner.
8. Another shot from last weeks Summer Colors in the Park post.

Dungarees: thrifted Levi's | Collartop: COS | Jacket: Humanoid | Shoes: Vintage

What I was wearing yesterday. As some of you probably know, summer has finally arrived in Holland. This weekend will even bring us the highest temperatures since 1994. I'm talking about 31-36 degrees Celsius, too hot if you ask me. If you're wondering what I'm doing in these photos, well I tried to call a cat. He didn't respond until we walked away, then he decided to keep stalking us as far as our front door.
