The newest Vestoj is out and I have it! Love this issue on failure. It's an annual journal that critically reviews fashion and tries to open up a dialogue about the cultural phenomenon that is fashion. Every issue contains intellectual interviews and stories about the ongoing topic (failure in the current issue) bringing together theory and practice.
Last weekend I had some extra time on my hands and decided to sort out the piles and piles (!) of magazines and books I had lying around. I (re)discovered these two gems and directly put them with the stuff that I'm taking with me when going on holiday this weekend.
Guess these will perfect for relaxing at the pool..
Yes I'm going to swim!! Haven't done that in years since I'm not really fan of going to the beach (That actually is because of the sun, I always end up looking like a tomato), anyways there still are swimming pools. We just happen to have booked a hotel a bit North of Oslo that has amazing spa facilities including a huge serene inside swimming pool, so obviously I have to go swimming.
And since I finally am the proud owner of a bikini again (yes I didn't have a bikini... well I didn't visit the beach so why would I have one?!), I'm more than ready for an early morning dive. I have to admit that even though I never missed not having one, I secretly ordered another bikini and a bathing suit so I do have options. Maybe I will even try the ocean again! At least I can always relax and enjoy my book and magazine! What do you take with you on holiday? xx
Because it always turns out to be really difficult to buy Christmas gifts for men, I decided to create a mens gift guide for you.
But I approached it slightly different than usual. Instead of looking for nice stuff online I decided to search within the walls of our home to create a gift guide. I went through Mart's drawers, bags, closet, cabinet, etc. to find all those items that are - according to him - perfect to give.
So hereby I provide you with a table full with gift worthy items for men. From top to bottom, left to right: Analog camera, Sneakers - the complete guide book, One Piece cap, Another Escape magazine, bygitte cable loop, Scotch & Soda Barfly perfume, Sabon peeling, Toni&Guy sea-salt spray, L'oreal MEN Expert vita lift, Hema alarm, Victorinox Pocket knife, Flashlight, H&M tie, Beard book, Acne cap, Apple iPad mini, wooden ruler, HAY scissors, How to tie the knot print. Those who follow me on Instagram already know I won an iPad mini. While doing my internship at GLOSSYBOX I got the chance to compete in a pool with the other employees and I had to bet how the countries would do at the World Cup. Somehow I managed to end first :-) That is why I was the lucky person to win an iPad mini, thanks GB! I also received some magazines as a gift from Mart! xx
PS. Sorry for the grainy photos, I made them in the evening..
What are you looking at?
1. This week all June editions (Glamour, Elle, Vogue) came in and the Vogue added a tee with it. So during breakfast I had something to read.
2. Everything is starting to get its green leafs, love how colorful and bright everything looks.
3. Interior details.
4. A try-out meal: sauerkraut, apple, white bean paste and a hint of cinnamon. Perfect with a beer.
5. Just a few days ago we were still shooting photos outside without wearing a jacket but unfortunately the weather isn't that great anymore. Today we went back to weather that asks for knits and leather jackets, kinda depressing.
6. Asparagus, salmon and rice.
Just four photos this week. Didn't made a lot of photos, because I haven't done anything special in the past days. Had to work some days and it was the first week of a new semester at the University so just some introductions and all the stuff. That actually made that I had some time on my hands and did some drawing this weekend, I haven't touched any pencil or marker since I graduated at Akademie Vogue two years ago. I'm not finished with the illustration yet, but I'll show it when I'm done with it. As you probably might know, I went to Akademie Vogue and followed some fashion and drawing courses. Those classes were absolutely fun and of course very informative. I totally love to make fashion illustration, but for some reason I never did anything after those classes. I hope to get back to drawing on a more regular base, well we'll see.
What are you looking at?
1. Todays brunch. Croissants made by Mart and some fresh mineola juice and coffee.
2. Pile of unread magazines from last week.
3. Me reading some articles for the uni, yep that's a milkmaidbraid on top of my head.
4. Todays breakfast, muesli with syrup.
Because I had some time on my hands and decided to start working through my pile of unread magazines. Of course most information wasn't new because I read a lot online. But it is always kinda relaxing to flip through the pages and compare the things in different magazines. The trend for summer I like a lot is the two-piece suit. I've been looking for one but haven't find a one I like, probably because I'm still doubting between a plain or printed one. I mean wouldn't it be perfect to find a graphic/striped suit in black and white, but also a simple white suit wouldn't be wrong either. Do you already have a suit or are you also still on the hunt for one?
I also have a new iPhone cover from Iconmesis. It's a drawing made by the Finnish illustrator Fifi Lapin. Although I had a hard time choosing one I'm really happy because it's fun and not too loud. Apart from the Teacup version, there are also a Cupcake and Fifisonnyandstella.
