Guide to better living

Finally bought this book! It has been on top of my wishlist for a really long time but somehow I always bought another book first. I'm glad that I have it now though! The book addresses living in cities around the world and how to improve the quality of your life. They show which cities are most interesting, why they are interesting and what it exactly is that they have to offer. It's an amazing book filled with inspiration! xx

At the ADPT. showroom in Denmark

As you might already have seen on my Instagram feed (@heritagemode), I visited the Bestseller showroom grounds in Brande, Denmark during my holidays. A few months ago I was at the Modefabriek in Amsterdam and there I came in contact with the international brand manager behind a new unisex brand ADPT. I got really enthusiastic seeing the beautiful, detailed items with which the brand is tapping into the current trends.

At the ADPT. showroom I saw the winter collection that will be available from December on. The philosophy of the brand implies that it is better to adapt (hence their name) in season by buying products that are designed in and for that moment. They have managed to develop a flexible, adaptive way of designing and producing with which they can easily respond to demands of the market. I really like this concept because as soon as a new trend emerges you want to shop for items that fit that style. ADPT. makes exactly that possible.

As mentioned above the collection contains many detailed items and the styles are comfortable and laid-back. The focus is put upon the materials, color choices, shapes and cuts. Therefore the items are of high quality and quite elegant while at the same time perfect for your everyday look. In the photos you can see a few of my favorites (those jackets!). Nacht van de Mode

Saturday night during 'Nacht van de Mode' in the popular Modekwartier [fashionquarters] in my hometown Arnhem. This is a special evening that is dedicated to all the artisans, stores and designers in the fashion area. During the event that is held in the stores and in the streets in front of all the workshops, stores and restaurant. Here some photos to show what it looked like. xx

Artez Graduation Show

How amazing are these coats, love love love the first one!! The long bomber jacket is something I really would like to add to my wardrobe right now, could really use something like it!

Perfect fringe bags and love that this student also made amazing matching shoes for her collection.

 

The use of new and innovative materials was inspiring. It was clear that these students have the latest techniques - and the devices to exercise them - at their disposal (think laser-cutters, etc.).

The designs from Becx were amazing because of its pureness and rawness. Totally loved the oversized tie dye look in the third photo; the huge blanket like coat, the scarf and the trousers. The frayed edges look perfect on these heavy fabrics!

Loved the white and clean looks in this series that is designed and made by Kuijf.

 

This was actually one of my favorite series during the graduation show. Really loved the shapes and materials that are used in this collection by Tellie. The colors and textiles go really well together and all the separate looks seemed to be part of an overall bigger picture.

Obviously all items within one collection should always form a cohesive collection, but I often have the feeling that with many shows this doesn't seem to be the case. This collection looked as if the designer really thought about every little aspect though, I loved it!

Gallery Wall

Looking for inspiration for on our walls. Bought a shitload of frames a while ago and I'm slowly starting to find nice prints to put in them. Some of them are still empty because I'll create something myself, at least that is the plan. I hope to have some time in July when I'm babysitting two rabbits!

Maybe at the end of summer I can show you some photos of our own home, with all our new frames on the wall. If you have any suggestion for another nice print, please tell me. Still looking for some nice 40x50 sized ones. xx
