At the bygitte showroom

Today I went to visit the shop-like showroom from Gitte. As you probably know I'm a huge fan of the leather handmade items Gitte designs. Both Mart and I have several items from bygitte, for example iPhone cases (here and here), belt, tube necklace, key chain and make-up bag (here, here and here).

When I saw on Instagram that she decorated the studio space it was time to check it out. She not only has many new designs, she has also added new leathers to her collection. Apart from the thick sturdy leather and felt, she now also creates products from buttery soft nappa leather and the finest suede. She is really building her brand!

If you are looking for beautiful leather items for yourself (also perfect as a gift for someone else) or your home, you should definitely take a look at what she is offering. From wallets, etuis, pouches, iPhone cases, tablet and macbook covers to baskets and pillows, there is always something nice to find. I'll show what I bought tomorrow, or can you guess already? xx

Interior: Ferm Living wire basket

Look what the mailman just delivered! Finally I have a Ferm Living wire basket, I've been longing for one of those for ages. This weekend I finally decided to just order one, don't what kept me from ordering one. Well actually I do. I've seen them online so many times, but I never saw one in real life, so I guess I was just doubting if the quality would be good.

Last week I visited a cute tiny store called 'Van Mij' in Arnhem and they sell these wire baskets in the pastel colors. There I could finally touch and hold the basket and I knew I wanted one. Unfortunately she didn't offer them in either black or white so I ordered mine at the Bijenkorf. This morning it arrived! xx

MoBA Fetishism in Fashion

Like I told you yesterday Mart and I went to the MoBA Fetishism in Fashion exhibition. Here some of the photos I made, I just selected a few to share with you. The whole exhibition is just gorgeous and contains many amazing pieces, totally worth a visit!! I love love love that first dress which is designed by Walter van Beirendonck. There were many different rooms all with their own themes. But it wasn't all clothing; there were movies, fetish footwear, 3d printed shoes, photos and many more. Like I said, definitely worth a visit!

Arnhems Modekwartier: By Gitte

During my lunchbreak I visited the studio of designer Gitte van Helvoirt located in Arnhem. At the MoMarket I came in contact with her designs and I really liked the necklaces she sold. Today I bought that particular necklace; a rose-golden tube surrounded by a piece of hand-stitched leather. It's amazing isn't it?! When I saw all the other amazing felt/leather iPad and iPhone covers, notebooks, leather cardholders and dotted pockets I knew I had to add something to my purchase. I decided to buy this dotted etui which I'm already using as an everyday make-up bag. One day I will buy my own leather sewing machine, love hers! If you are interested in the designs of Gitte you can find a small selection on her webshop, if you live in Arnhem you can visit the Mediamarkt (speciaal rekje met items van ontwerpers uit het Modekwartier!!) or you can wait till the next MoMarket!

Pink blossoms for spring

The full look as promised yesterday. Not that spectacular I know but sometimes comfy clothes are just  perfect! I like how Arnhem is looking right now; blossoms in full bloom everywhere. All gardens are full of color as far as the eye can see. Love those mornings when you wake up to birds chirping and rays of sunlight ushering in a new day. It's so much easier to get out of bed and prepare yourself for the day, at least for me that is. It would even be better if temperatures hold steady at a lovely 25 degrees Celsius or something alike. I guess we just have to wait for that to happen. Have a good weekend! xx
